Since Friday the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki has been the victim of a series of cyber attacks using the ransomware virus.
Police sources said that the situation has been resolved by the university staff without the assistance of the police, as ekthatimerini.com reported, although the university did report the cyber attack to the Electronic Crime Prosecution of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate and a file was created for the Prosecutor’s Office.
There have been no other reports of cyber attacks against any other institutions in Greece at this time.
