AEK and Panathinaikos Advance into Lead for Greek Cup

After this past week’s semi-final games for the Greek Cup, AEK and Panathinaikos have advanced into the lead.
In a match against Olympiakos, AEK won a 2-1 victory on Thursday at Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium. AEK celebrated its 93rd birthday by scoring the 6th minute with a goal by Sergio Araujo. The Reds scored in the 14th minute with a goal from Diogo Figueiras, but when the teams came back from halftime, the Reds seemed tired and the Yellows scored their second goal in the 64th minute through Patito Rodriguez.
The Reds still have a chance to advance and turn things around in matches later this month with the second leg on April 26, but that didn’t stop their fans from booing them off the pitch at the end of the match.
On Wednesday, Panathinaikos beat PAOK 2-0 in Athens, with the second leg of the match to take place on April 27.
