MRB Survey: Majority of Greeks Anticipate Snap Elections in 2017

MRB conducted a poll for Real News which found that 63 percent of Greeks feel that early elections are on their way in 2017.
The public opinion poll showed how the majority of the public are filled with worry, discontent and other negative feelings when asked to choose words that describe how they feel about their government and current situation.
Of those polled, 63.1 percent chose that they felt “worry,” 47.9 percent “fear,” 29.7 percent “anger” and 24.3 percent “shame.” An astonishing 77 percent of respondents also said that they are fearful that they will not be able to maintain their standards of living one year from now while seven in ten young Greeks aged from 18 to 24 said that they look to seek work outside of Greece if they get the chance.
In all, one of the leading causes for Greeks expecting snap elections in 2017 is the growing rift between the leftist government and the international creditors, according to the survey.
