When asked about Athens’ plans to payout Christmas bonuses to pensioners during an interview with the newspaper Die Zeit, German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble reiterated his hard-line approach in tackling the bailout issue stating that the eurozone will be in ruins if rules are not followed.
“…If we don’t stick to the rules, the eurozone will fall apart,” he said.
During the interview Schaeuble also commented that the construction of the currency union needs to be changed.
