skkines-ref“Help the refugees who freeze at Petra of Olympos. There is no life in tents in sub-zero temperatures,” wrote a NGO volunteer at the Petra migrant camp in northern Greece.
Thousands of refugees and migrants are put to the test in most of the hospitality structures throughout the country as winter started showing its teeth with heavy snowfall.
In many parts of North Greece temperatures dipped 10 degrees Celsius, going below zero, even at low altitudes. Western Macedonia, the mountains of Epirus, Thessaly and Central Macedonia, all the way to the outskirts of Thessaloniki, were covered in snow.
Paul Carr, of the Collective Call non-profit organization,  posted some pictures in Twitter calling on people to come out and help the refugees.
