Ankara’s FM Cavusoglu Says Cyprus Talks are 'Last Opportunity'

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu speaks during a news briefing in TbilisiThe Cyprus talks continue in the hopes of finding a solution to end the divide of the island caused by the illegal military occupation of Turkey since 1974 of its northern third.
The current UN-led talks are seen as a “last opportunity” according to Ankara’s foreign minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu.
At a press conference on Saturday in China, Turkey’s foreign minister spoke of reuniting the divided island and said that the five-party negotiations that include Turkey, Greece and the United Nations should act swiftly in reaching a conclusion in the talks.
The most recent set of meetings took place last week in Switzerland over a five-day period and the next meeting is set to take place starting next Sunday for three or four more days of discussions. The request to suspend talks until November 20 came at the request of Cypriot President Anastasiades.
Sources have reported that the two sides are closer than ever to reaching an agreement.
