Greek Parliament Lit With Green Lights to Symbolize Paris Climate Change Agreement

greek-parliament-green-lightGreece’s parliament has literally turned green to celebrate the entry into the UN Paris Agreement on climate change as of Friday and Saturday. The entire building is lit with green floodlights as of yesterday night and will be lit again tonight. The lights symbolize the ‘green light’ for faster action to stop global warming.
The Greek Parliament has adopted the proposal of the UN Climate Change Conference and in recognition floodlights have been placed at the building that houses Greek lawmakers, which in addition to its distinctive architecture is also notable for its bioclimatic features, according to a parliament press release.
The Greek Parliament ratified the Paris Climate Change Agreement on October 5. It is the first global and legally binding agreement on climate achieved at the Paris Climate Change Conference on December 12, 2015.
