The “Pokemon Go” craze has hit Greece for good, as hundreds of players occupied Syntagma Square and Monastiraki on Saturday night with their eyes glued to their smart phones.
Hundreds of people aged 15-25 heeded the call through Facebook and gathered in central Athens to chase the yellow creatures. Over 5,000 people said they would attend the event on Facebook and a good number of them did.
“Saturday, July 23 all Pokémon Trainers gather at Monastiraki for a night raid,” said the Facebook message. This was the first Pokemon Go night tour of the capital. The organizers promised there will be more to come.
