Thrace's Muslim Minority Reacts to "8" Army Coup Officials in Greece

CASE
The Muslim minority at the Greek province of Thrace was quick to react to the news that eight military officials involved in the failed military coup in Turkey were seeking political asylum in Greece.
Greek daily newspaper To Vima reports on the circulation of an announcement signed by the Party of Equality, Peace and Friendship, Cultural and Educational Society of Minorities in Western Thrace and the Minority Scientists Association. The statement invites Greek Muslims to take a stand against the “vile betrayal” of the army officers who requested political asylum in Greece by heading to Alexandroupolis for a pro-Erdogan rally outside the Turkish Consulate General in Komotini.
Members of the community are invited to show their support to the legitimate government of Turkey, headed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Greece has returned the helicopter that the men had used to flee to the country, however has detained the passengers and will apply procedures of international law before deciding on their extradition to Turkey.
