For the 6th consecutive year, Capital Link with CSR Hellas organized the annual CSR conference “Facing the Challenges” at the Athens Hilton on Monday.
The purpose of the conference was to present initiatives to stimulate entrepreneurship and help companies meet the major challenges Greek society faces today.
This year the International Award “2016 CAPITAL LINK CSR LEADERSHIP AWARD” was awarded to Nikos Mouyiaris, Founder and CEO of Mana Products, Inc, in recognition of his multifaceted contribution and philanthropic action in Greece, Cyprus and abroad.
A group of prominent businessmen and investors from the U.S. presented views and proposed initiatives on how Greece can be put back on the international investment map. The panel included John Calamos, Dean Dakolias, John Koudounis, C. Dean Metropoulos and Nikos Mouyiaris. The discussion was moderated by Konstantinos Karidis of Reed Smith.
The conference was held under the auspices of the Municipality of Maroussi and the Commercial & Industrial Chamber of Piraeus, with the support of the Delegation of the European Commission in Greece and the Greek Confederation of Trade & Entrepreneurship (ESEE).
The section on financing small to medium businesses by Institutional Investor Organizations was coordinated by Takis Solomos of First Athens S.A. with the participation of Atlantic Bank President Nancy Papaioannou, Odyssey Venture managing partner Thanasis Kalekos and Libra Group head of social responsibility Jimmy Athanasopoulos.
The section entitled “Investing for Growth – Enhancing Entrepreneurship & Innovation,” was intended to present and develop European investment initiatives and programs aimed at strengthening Greek entrepreneurship.
The Greek Prize “2016 CAPITAL LINK CSR LEADERSHIP AWARD” was awarded to Grigorios Stergioulis, CEO of Hellenic Petroleum in recognition of his multifaceted social contribution.
