The Greek National Tourism Organization Announces Collaboration for Tourism Ads with Yahoo and the Travel Channel

greece tourismTourism in Greece is one of the most important and thriving sectors in the country’s failing economic and social systems. The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) announced it will collaborate with Yahoo and the Travel Channel in order to generate even more tourism for this 2016 season.
The venture will consist of Greece spending almost half a million euros to advertise the country as a tourism destination on the platforms of Yahoo and the Travel Channel.
Working together with Yahoo, the GNTO will orchestrate three-month campaigns for several countries. The organization will target the United States, with 19.8 million ads at a cost of €122,301. Other markets that will be targeted are the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain, with 50.5 million ads, and costing €157,662.
The Travel Channel is to participate by screening five adverts, all in English and airing around one-minute long to its viewers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. They will show the five adverts 129 times each, as they focus on Greek gastronomy, sun-and-sea holidays, city tourism, luxury tourism and lifestyle. The remainder of the GNTO’s budget for this project will be spent on this television campaign at around €205,000.
