Pierre Moscovici Expects Lenders to Return to Athens Following Today’s Eurogroup Meeting

pierre_moscovici“The pension reform proposal must be sound and sustainable,” said Eurogroup and Ecofin President Jeroen Dijsselbloem on his way to today’s Eurogroup summit.
In turn, European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs Pierre Moscovici said that “we must take into account the refugee problem in Greece” but also added that, following today’s summit, the representatives of the institutions that serve as Greece’s official lenders must return to Athens.
Finland’s Minister of Finance Alexander Stubb said that all parties involved must work together to ensure that a new crisis is avoided.
Today’s Eurogroup meeting will discuss the progress of the bailout programs in Greece and Cyprus. The discussion will focus on addressing fiscal targets for 2016.
