The latest Eurobarometer survey revealed that 65% of Greeks wish to remain in the common currency union. The percentage has increased by six points compared to 2014, noted the report.
According to the new survey conducted from October 12 to 14, 73% of Greeks consider that the country has benefited from its induction into the Eurozone. Last year, the same rate stood at 69%. Meanwhile, another 74% of Greeks are in favor of establishing reforms to bolster the country’s economy.
Another 88% of Greeks also wish to see more reforms implemented in the labor market, 74% of people agree that there is a need to strengthen the country’s competitiveness and privatization and, finally, 85% agree that changes must be made to the pension system, although only 29% are in favor of increasing the retirement age.
At the same time, however, 88% of Greeks believe that their income will either decrease or remain unchanged, while only 12% expect an increase.
