Mozart Performed by Greek-Turkish Youth Orchestra

Greek Turkish orchestraThe Greek-Turkish Youth Orchestra presented pieces of the famous composer Mozart at Koç University, in Turkey on Thursday.

The orchestra, led by Maestro Cem Mansur peformed “A night with Mozart” at the Odeon Hall. The concert, where the Greek clarinet player Pavlos Seassis performed as the soloist, included Stravinsky’s “Firebird Suite,” Beethoven’s “7th Symphony,” Schubert’s “Unfinished Symphony,” Dvorak’s “9th Symphony,” Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro,” Smetana’s “La Molau” along with Skalkottas’ “Selection of Greek Dances” and Erkin’s “Turkish Dances.”

The orchestra, which aims to bring young Turkish and Greek musicians together, has drawn a large number of art and music lovers to concert halls for the past six years. Admission to the event was free of charge.

The Greek-Turkish Youth Orchestra was founded by Greek music lover Leni Konialidis in 2008. The orchestra has successfully performed in major cities in Turkey and Greece as well as in Rotterdam and Madrid.
