Adele Exarchopoulos Wins Best Actress Award

Adele_Exarchopoulos_GreekAdele Exarchopoulos took home another award for her performance in the indie romantic drama “Blue Is the Warmest Color.”

The Greek-French actress tied with Cate Blanchett for Best Actress at this year’s Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards. The 19-year-old previously won the prestigious Palme d’OrĀ at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival for her portrayal of a teen girl who falls in love with an older woman. Her co-star Lea Seydoux, and directorĀ Abdellatif Kechiche, shared the award at Cannes. “Blue Is the Warmest Color” also won the LA Critics Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

The LA Critics chose “Before Midnight” as Best Screenplay of the year. The film, written by Richard Linklater, Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, takes place in Greece and is the third film in a series of romantic escapades that follow a couple through their ups and downs as they travel across Europe.

The latest from Alexander Payne was recognized in the acting category: Bruce Dern was awarded Best Actor for his performance in the Greek-American director’s film, “Nebraska.”
