After 25 Years, Alexandroupoli Wines Again

1The revival of the Wine Festival took place with  success in the city of Alexandroupoli, the capital of the Evros regional unit in Thrace. According to first estimations, more than 25,000 people visited the site where the events took place.
The revival of the Wine festival from July 29-Aug. 4 in one of the city’s largest green areas. It last took place in 1988 when it was organized by the Greek Tourism Organization. This time it was held with the cooperation of the Association of Cultural Institutions of Evros (E.PO.F.E.).
Twenty-five cultural associations of (E.PO.F.E.) participated in the festival while more than 400 dancers performed traditional dances with theme nights with music from all parts of Greece.
The seven-day festival was enriched by cultural activities of the associations, such as educational lessons, art and photo exhibitions  and more, all having the wine as main subject. And, of course, there was plenty of free wine.
