Golden Dawn, Suleiman Head Wikipedia's Greek Hits

Wikipedia_2012Based on data collected from an international survey carried out to provide details related to Wikipedia’s most visited entries (the most popular free Internet encyclopedia worldwide), the second most popular wiki of the year 2012 visited by Greeks is the Golden Dawn page,   followed by Suleiman the Magnificent. Greece was the number one entry visited.
As seen in the table published, the list was conspicuous by the absence of some notable figures, including Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, and interim Premier Loukas Papademos. Noble Prize-winning poet Odysseus Elytis is fifth, Alexis Tsipras sixth, followed by ‘sex positions’ in place seven.
Wikipedia rarely gives out statistics concerning its webpage visits, but Swedish software engineer Johan Gunnarsson studied the public logs  to uncover the most popular pages in various languages. In the English-language Wikipedia, Facebook ranks first followed by the Wiki homepage, with ‘deaths in 2012’ third.
