Brussels’ Greek Santa Claus

tromaktiko2570The only Santa Claus in Brussels’ main square Grand-Place is… Greek.
Hordes of immigrants pleading for jobs are the unfortunate result of the economic crisis Greece has been dealing with, mostly over the past two years.

Many Greeks, look for a way out by immigrating  especially within the Euro countries, in  hope of finding a job and better living conditions.
Diamantis, a physicist, left Greece in search of a better future in Brussels and over the last two years has been an itinerant worker. This Christmas he put on Santa Claus’ costume and went to work in Brussels’  most central square, under the innovative, electronic Christmas tree of Grand-Place, stealing the show and spreading joy to passers-by.

According to his statement in  cityVoice, things in Brussels are not so good either, and he will do everything necessary to survive. He laughed while referring to former Greek Prime Minister Papandreou’s immortal words: “The money is there,”  which is what, he said drove him to immigrate, and wishes all Greeks a Merry Christmas and a Happy … revolution!
