President Papoulias Visits Egypt

President of the Greek Republic, Karolos Papoulias, is expected to visit Egypt from October 18 to 20, accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense as well as other senior officials. This visit, is of special importance as it is the first one since the January 2011 revolution. The President of Egypt, Mohamed Morsi is going to meet with President Papoulias the same evening in Egypt’s Presidential Palace.

The two presidents will discuss bilateral issues. It is noteworthy that in statements made, Al-Ahram, Egypt’s ambassador, said the visit underlines the depth and strength of relations between the two countries and reflects common interests highlighting Egypt’s keenness to improve joint relations.

The following morning, President Papoulias will visit the Archeological Museum of Cairo and in the evening El Alamein, where he is going to lay a wreath at the Commonwealth War Memorial Cemetery.
