22 Political Parties to Run for Greek Elections of June 17

22 political parties will take part in Greek repeat elections of June 17. The Areios Pagos Supreme Court of Greece announced the participants.
According to the First Department of the Greek Supreme Court, those who will not run for the upcoming elections due to the fact they did not include any candidates for the elections on May 6, despite that they applied are: Lefko, ELKSI (Greek Movement of Current Ideology), PAME of GESEEP (Pan-Hellenic Independent Party) and Greeks (Union of Free Greeks).
Moreover, the following parties are not allowed to run for the elections because they applied for their participation out of time: Peripheral Urban Development, New Salvation Party of Christian Democracy and Greek Vision, the party Council of Citizens – Greek Co-governance with Democracy in Action, after their legal representative resigned.
Athanasios Daskalopoulos was elected an independent MP of Athens, without, however, being regarded as member of the Tyranni-fighters party, providing that he had not founded such a party.
Anna Samiotou (candidate at the B Piraeus department with the New Democracy party) and Kyriakos Kozaris (candidate of LAOS party in Evros prefecture) asked the Supreme Court to be excluded from the upcoming repeat elections.
The rest of the parties and combinations are included in the elections of June 17, as they satisfy the requirements of candidancy and applied for it during the past week.
