On December 3, the Chian Federation Gala was organized in honor of Greek-American Lieutenant General William G. Pagonis, a three-star general in the Army who oversaw the entire logistical operation during the Gulf War.
The event’s attendees included among others Councilmember Peter F. Vallone Jr., state Senator Michael Gianaris and Assembly member Aravella Simotas. Vallone presented a proclamation to the retired lieutenant general, a Pennsylvania native with nearly three decades of service.
Pagonis also received the Homeric Award from the Federation, which was established to honor individuals who have exceptional leadership in public service.
