Dora Bakoyannis, the leader of the Democratic Alliance party told The Australian Financial Review that Hellenism in Australia should be used as a paradigm to Greece in order to pull through the current economic crisis.
“There is a Greek minority in Australia that is hard-working and lawful and also pays the government taxes. Tax evasion is not in the DNA of Greeks. The same Greeks from Australia could either succeed or fail in Greece because the Greek country is characterized by bad administration in every sector”, Bakoyannis stated.
Finally, she emphasized that under the right circumstances Greek population can become creative and productive, as in Australia.
