Witness the Perseid Meteor Shower this Friday!

If you choose to remain awake from midnight till dawn on Friday you will have the chance to witness the annual phenomenon of he Perseid Meteor Shower.
The Perseid shower began this year on July 26 and will last till August 16.  The meteor shower will reach its peak this Friday, with an estimated 100 stars falling per hour.
This phenomenon has been observed for 2000 years. The Perseid showers are remnants of a comet that hit the earth’s atmosphere once a year.
These typically fast and bright meteors radiate from the constellation Perseus the Hero, where the shower gets its name.
Scientists note that the phenomenon will be visible in Europe, Northern America, Russia and Japan and it would be better to choose a place far from inhabited areas because the phenomenon is more visible in the absolute dark.
