New Book "Greeks in the Far East" Profiles Immigration by Anastasios Tamis

We all probably have heard about the boats that used to carry thousands of brides- to- be from Greece to the U.S. and Australia, in order for them to marry men that they had never met before. What we don’t know is that they had also reached Japan for that goal.
Anastasios Tamis, a university professor, profiles the above in his new book “Greeks in the Far East” . The book is being released in a few weeks by Vanias Publications inThessaloniki. In the 580 page book, readers will find 480 rare photos that depict the Greek immigration experience in India, China, Manchuria, Japan, Korea and the Philippines.
One of the most interesting parts in the Japan chapter is actually about the Greek brides- to- be that arrived there.
