The Elios Society Honored Greek-American Celebrities

On November 7th, The Elios Society, a non profit organization based in Northern California honored George Chakiris, Michael Chiklis, Nicholas Gage and Marilu Henner at the Hellenic Charity Ball. The event took place at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. Kalomoira, a Greek-American pop singer also received “The Elios Spotlight Award”. Maria Menounos was Mistress of Ceremonies.

Elios’ mission is to “preserve and promote the spirit, values and ideals of our Hellenic Culture and heritage, for the benefit of our youth, our membership and the Greek American community through a process of mutual enlightenment and fellowship.”

The Hellenic Charity Ball is unique in the United States and has received very favorable comments from the press and from the Honorees themselves. Some of the past honorees are: Tony Thomopoulos, Helene Alexopoulos, George Veras, Yanni, Nia Vardalos, John Aniston, Jim Gianopulos, Melina Kanakarides, Jeffrey Eugenides, and Alexander Payne.
