Former American Idol contestant and singer Constantine Maroulis will be performing in the Long Wharf Theatre’s production of “The Most Beautiful Room in New York”, which has its opening night on May 10 in the New Haven.

If you are in town during May, pick up tickets to see this incredible production, which also stars Matt Bogart, Krystina Alabado, and Anastasia Barzee.

Maroulis is excited about performing in this new musical; regarding the preparation and rehearsal process, he said, “this is what every actor craves. There is a lot that is changing in the room on this one. The writers are there every day. We’ve had the luxury of time, getting the show to where we want it to be.”

The singer and actor has previous been nominated for a Tony, appeared on Broadway in “Rock of Ages”, and also guest-starred in several television shows. Despite his busy work schedule, he also continues to perform with his band “Pray for the Soul of Betty”, and upon his arrival in New Haven actually asked for local clubs where he could play.

“The Most Beautiful Room in New York” features lyrics by Adam Gopnik, music by David Shire, and is directed by Gordon Edelstein. For tickets and more information, visit the Long Wharf Theatre’s website.
