A billionaire Greek family has ordered three massive 230 feet Admiral GC-Force 70 superyachts. The sale was announced by IYC and The Italian Seag Group (TISG).

Details on the deal itself are scant and the identity of the wealthy Greek family in question is unknown.

The superyachts will feature spacious interior and deck areas, abundant use of glass to ensure that indoor spaces receive plenty of sunlight, and of course, the designs will be of an elegant and luxurious character.

Wealthy Greek family buys three superyachts

Although little is known about the wealthy Greek family who bought the three luxury sea vessels, some of the specifications for the superyachts are publically known.

TISG’s in-house design studio, Centro Stile, designed the Admiral GC-Force 70 motor yacht. Every boat is known for its sophisticated design, spacious outdoor areas, and impressive incorporation of glass elements. The latter detail allows plenty of sunlight into the boat’s indoor spaces.

Upon completion, each Admiral GC-Force 70 yacht will feature seven luxurious guest cabins and ten crew cabins. The delivery dates for these three new yachts are set for 2026, 2027, and 2028.

Comments on the sale

Michel Chryssicopoulos, the Global Managing Partner of IYC, will oversee the construction of the three vessels. He is of Greek and Danish descent and is based in Athens where he works in the superyacht industry.

“This incredible deal brings The Italian Sea Group and IYC even closer together, solidifying a relationship that started 12 years ago,” said Chryssicopoulos. “We have absolute faith in the vision and goals set by Giovanni Costantino and The Italian Sea Group team. Together, we are looking forward to these successful deliveries.”

Filippo Menchelli, Chairman of TISG, also commented on the deal, adding further insight. “The sale of the first ‘Admiral GC-Force fleet’ represents a significant milestone, which we were able to reach thanks to the professionalism of our team and the high qualitative profile of our yachts. It demonstrates the trust owners from all across the globe put into our organization,” said Menchelli.

The yachting industry in Greece

Greece is one of the most popular destinations for yachting in the world. This is hardly surprising given the world-renowned beauty of the Aegean Sea and the myriad of captivating islands to visit.

The Superyachts of the wealthy, as well as smaller vessels, can often be spotted in Greek island ports or out to sea.

According to data shared by George Vernicos, the president of Vernicos Yachts, during a TRAN meeting in Brussels at the European Parliament, there was a 20 percent rise in luxury yacht charters in Greece during the summer of 2022.
