‘Low-flying plane carrying a banner’
Ralph Rayburn, a reporter from 7 Sky Force HD, said that he and his team witnessed the plane crashing incident while returning to the airport. They spotted a low-flying plane carrying a banner behind it.
During that time, they heard an emergency call on the radio, indicating that the pilot was experiencing some issues. Shortly after, they observed the plane releasing the banner it was towing and struggling with its controls, resulting in a leftward bank and a subsequent crash into the ground.
Upon arriving at the scene, which took less than a minute, Rayburn and his team witnessed the plane already engulfed in flames. The Hollywood Fire Department and police swiftly arrived and cordoned off the area.
Initially, water was used to combat the fire, but due to the presence of fuel on the ground, it proved challenging to extinguish. Consequently, the firefighters switched to using foam, which was more effective in tackling stubborn flames.
As of now, there has been no official confirmation or information from the fire department regarding the incident. The police have advised the residents to stay away from the scene.
‘Flames were way too hot to get much closer’
A live witness of the plane crash took to Twitter and shared a video capturing the harrowing scene. In the footage, the flames from the crashed plane can be seen towering high.
Grabbed my smoothie today; walking out and a plane falls out of the sky. The flames were way too hot to get much closer. This is seconds before first responders showed up. #miami #planecrash pic.twitter.com/uAOOpjZ0QP
