Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler star in a new Netflix crime comedy movie Murder Mystery 2 set to be released on March 31st.

The first Murder Mystery follows New York cop Nick Spitz (Sandler), who takes his wife Audrey (Aniston) on a fancy vacation, hoping to reignite the flame of their marriage.

Unfortunately, they get framed for the murder of a billionaire, forcing the couple to solve the crime and clear their names while on the run. As expected, the adventure accomplished what the trip couldn’t do. It brings the couple closer together and shows how well they can work together.

Set a while after the first film, the sequel will bring the Spitz back as they work to keep their private investigation agency afloat. Drunk with the thrills of the hunt of the first movie, the couple decided to dedicate their lives to solving crimes together. Unfortunately, it seems like business is not blooming, and the Spitzes are struggling to get new cases.

To make matters worse, their friend, the Mahajara (Adeel Akhtar), is kidnapped during his own wedding, leading the couple to another wild goose chase against an unknown criminal.

Besides Sandler and Aniston leading the cast, Murder Mystery 2 will also feature Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy star Mark Strong, Inglourious Basterds star Mélanie Laurent, After Yang star Jodie Turner-Smith, Money Heist’s Enrique Arce, Scandal star Tony Goldwyn, Bad Moms star Annie Mumolo, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Zurin Villanueva, and Plan B star Kuhoo Verma.

John Kani also returns to his role as Colonel Ulenga. Murder Mystery 2 is directed by Jeremy Garelick from a script by James Vanderbilt, who also wrote the first movie’s screenplay.

Jennifer Aniston and her Greek roots

The A-list celebrity, actress, and producer may have been born in the US, but Jennifer Aniston actually has deep Greek roots that she frequently talks about in interviews.

The actress was initially named Joanna Anastasakis when she was born and changed her name later in life.

Aniston was born to Nancy Dow and John Aniston—originally named Yannis Anastasakis before changing his last name.

John Aniston, who recently passed away, was born in Chania, Crete in Greece and was most famous for playing a Greek character, Victor Kiriakis, on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives.

When Jennifer was a young girl, she got to experience Greece up close. Aniston lived in Athens and then Crete for a short while with her family when she was five years old. She is even connected to other famous Greeks, such as Telly Savalas, most famous for playing Kojak, who is her godfather.

Aniston has gone on record saying that her Greek heritage is part of the secret behind her ageless beauty. “My dad is 100 percent Greek; he turned 81 and he barely has a wrinkle,” she said. “And neither does my grandmother, who was 95 when she died.”
