Swifties, get ready for a cinematic wonderland with Taylor Swift! Yes, you read that right. Pop musician Taylor Swift will direct her first feature film.

The multi-Grammy award winner is partnering up with Guillermo del Toro fans for her directorial debut.

With an original script written by none other than herself, this unnamed project promises captivating scenes crafted straight from her incredible imagination.

On Friday, the renowned studio Searchlight Pictures revealed their plans to take on a new project: an undisclosed film from Oscar-winning producer teams who have lent their talents and storytelling prowess to such feature films as Nomadland, The Shape of Water, and Birdman.

While little has been shared about what this mysterious movie could bring viewers in terms of plot or story, one thing is for sure—it’s bound to be something extraordinary.

Taylor is “a once in a generation artist”

Searchlight Presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield told Deadline, “Taylor is a once in a generation artist and storyteller. It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey.”

Taylor Swift recently shattered records at the 2022 VMA Awards, becoming the first artist to ever win three Video of the Year awards.

She also made history as a solo musician by being honored with two Best Direction trophies —one for her directing work on The Man and another for All Too Well: The Short Film, making her only the second female recipient of this award in music video history.

Taylor Swift recently dazzled film festivals around the world with her powerful fourteen-minute short, All Too Well: The Short Film.

Following a special engagement in New York City, it was nominated to screen at 2022’s Tribeca and Toronto International Film Festivals before being named as one of this year’s top contenders for an Oscar nomination.

“I don’t see it being bigger in terms of scale”

Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated feature film is set to be a more personal and intimate production.

At the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival, the Evermore musician discussed her passion for creating something smaller in scope with only a select group of people that she trusts behind the scenes. It promises to be an absorbing look into Taylor’s creative vision.

The Midnights singer said, “I don’t see it being bigger in terms of scale.” Furthermore, she also stated, “I loved making a film that was so intimate with a crew that was relatively small. Just a really solid crew of people that I trusted.”

Taylor Swift started off her career as a director with the music video for her 2010 hit Mine,” co-directed with Roman White, and she truly made an impact when directing solo in 2019’s award-winning visual piece: The Man.”

The song garnered Taylor an MTV Video Music Award for Best Direction, proving that this long-time musician had just secured herself another talent. Now, Taylor Swift is going to direct her first feature film.
