Corfu is among the most beautiful islands in Greece

Sharapova also cruised on a private yacht on distant coves of the beautiful Ionian island. Corfu is one of Greece’s most beautiful and storied islands.

Its breathtaking scenery, mountain ranges, and beaches are amongst the most mesmerizing in the country, and its blend of cultural histories and influences—French, English, Venetian, and, of course, Greek—will leave you with a unique understanding of how the culture of the Ionian Islands developed.

Corfu, unlike the rest of Greece, never fell under Ottoman oppression. The island has primarily become part of the Western rather than the Levantine world. Today, it is one of the most cosmopolitan Mediterranean destinations, weaving a powerful spell on its visitors.

Maria Sharapova won 5 Grand Slam titles

The former world No. 1 tennis player reached some great heights as she won five Grand Slam titles during her tennis career.

Sharapova has won five major titles—two at the French Open and one each at the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. She won thirty-six titles in total, including the year-end championships in her debut in 2004. She also won three doubles titles.

Although she played under the banner of Russia with the WTA, she has lived in and been a United States permanent resident since 1994.

However, Sharapova retired in 2020 after she faced a ban for using an illicit substance.

Since her retirement from tennis, she has kept herself busy by launching a new program to mentor women entrepreneurs.

Before her vacation on Corfu, Greece, she was spotted at Binance Blockchain Week in Paris, where she talked about the growing role of nonfungible tokens (NFTs). Sharapova further talked about her involvement in the popular fields of Web3 and cryptocurrency.
