The Don’t Worry Darling film actor, Harry Styles, seemingly appeared to spit on his counterpart, Chris Pine, during the recently concluded 2022 Venice International Film Festival held on Monday.
The footage from the event currently making rounds on the internet and wildly circulating on social media shows Styles approaching Pine to take a seat next to the actor at a screening of the thriller.
Styles made a subtle “puh” motion with his mouth as he quickly moved to his seat, implying he may have spit. Pine looks down at his lap, pauses his applause, and then shakes his head and grins as if there may have been some kind of a joke between the two stars.

Harry Styles seems not to spit on Pine at Venice Film Festival
According to other revelers, it’s argued that nothing can be seen popping out of Styles’ mouth, and the representatives of both actors—Styles and Pine—commented in support of the duo.
“Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine, [and] there is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist,” Pine’s representative commented.
During the Venice International Film Festival red carpet, Pine was charmingly seen taking photos with a disposable camera of the film’s star, Florence Pugh, and Styles also planted a friendly kiss on co-star Nick Kroll during a lengthy standing ovation for the film after the screening.
Being the most recent movie-campaign moment for the cast, it’s too early for speculation that things are not all love between those involved with the project because there were plenty of smiles from the cast at Monday’s festivities.
Social media quick to judge the Don’t Worry Darling team
In relation to the Styles and Pine controversy, social media was also too quick to point out there wasn’t much public interaction between the Don’t Worry Darling director Olivia Wilde and Pugh. However, Wilde had nothing but praise for the actress.
In a press conference earlier on Monday, Wilde said, “Florence is a force, [and] I can’t say enough how honored I am to have her as our lead. She’s amazing in the film.”
When asked about reports she and Pugh have experienced a falling out, the director said, “As for all the endless tabloid gossip and all the noise out there, I mean, the internet feeds itself, I don’t feel the need to contribute. I think it’s sufficiently well-nourished.”
However, during that same press conference, Pine appeared to be distracted at times, which led Twitter to dub his appearance there as “Chris Pine astral projecting.”
