Delicious fluffy pancakes, probably the nation’s favorite breakfast, can substitute high sugar – high cholesterol toppings, such as butter, bacon, or maple syrup, for Greek-style yogurt as a more balanced, nutritious alternative.

Greek yogurt from Grecian Delight | Kronos Foods can give your stack of pancakes delicious taste and a healthy makeover and could be easily matched with fresh or frozen fruit, honey, nuts or spices like cinnamon—any of which will add extra health benefits to your diet.

The many advantages of Greek style yogurt stem from the straining process separating the whey and lactose from the rest of the mixture, which results in more protein, less fat, more probiotics, and a much fuller taste than regular yogurts.

The switch to Greek yogurt as a topping for your pancakes can prove particularly delightful during the hot summer days.

Ingredients for Kronos Greek Yogurt pancakes

1 ½ cups all purpose flour

3 ½ tsp baking powder

1 Tbsp sugar

1 tsp salt

1 large egg, lightly beaten

½ cup Kronos Greek Yogurt

1¼ cups milk

Preparation

Mix all dry ingredients together in a large bowl.

Whisk egg, Kronos Greek yogurt, and milk together.

Pour wet mixture in to dry mixture and mix until combined.

The batter should have some small lumps. Do not over-mix, or pancakes will be tough.

Heat a non-stick skillet or pancake griddle over medium heat.

Lightly oil the pan, or spray with non-stick vegetable spray.

For each pancake, scoop approximately 1/3 cup of batter onto skillet.

Flip when bubbles begin to appear on top and cook until golden brown.
