Elon Musk denied on Twitter he had an affair with the wife of Google co-founder billionaire Sergey Brin as reported by the Wall Street Journal on Sunday.

“This is total bs. Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night!” Musk tweeted. “I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic.”

The Wall Street Journal reported that Musk begged Brin for forgiveness after the affair.

The world’s richest man got down on one knee and apologized to his longtime pal earlier this year, people with knowledge of the stunning incident told the American newspaper.

Brin acknowledged Musk’s professed remorse but still isn’t speaking to him regularly, the newspaper reported.

The Tesla founder’s hook-up with Nicole Shanahan during a party at a swank art festival in Miami Beach last year prompted Brin to file for divorce in January, citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to the newspaper.

Elon Musk’s reported affair took place in December 2021

The fling reportedly took place in December 2021—after Musk broke up with Canadian pop singer Grimes in September.

Shanahan’s marriage to Brin was also strained at the time over problems related to COVID-19 pandemic shutdowns and the care of their daughter, people familiar with the relationship told The Wall Street Journal.

One person close to Shanahan told the newspaper that they were separated but still living together.

Shanahan is reportedly seeking more than $1 billion from Brin, who’s worth around $90 billion, and the pair is involved in divorce mediation proceedings.

They’ve been unable to strike a deal, with Brin’s side saying Shanahan wants much more than a prenuptial agreement calls for and Shananan’s side saying she signed the pact under duress while pregnant, sources familiar with the negotiations told The Wall Street Journal.
