This stunning view of a winter wonderland along a road near Florina in northern Greece has recently gone viral thanks to a photographer who posted the video.

Stefanos Addimando uploaded the short video on Instagram and called it “the magic of winter in Greece.”

The snow-covered road connects Florina with the ski center in Pisoderi and every winter it is covered with this impressive white veil.

Addimando describes himself as a photographer, photoblogger and travel influencer. “I invite you to wander with me around beautiful Greece and the world through my lens,” he says at his website.

Florina a winter wonderland in Greece

Florina Greece’s northwesternmost city is known for its stunning architecture and beautiful views that make it the perfect destination for winter vacations.

What makes Florina unique, however, is not just its remote and mountainous geographic position, but its beauty and its incomparable character.

All these aspects, combined with the local microclimate, which more closely resembles that of Britain or Scandinavia rather than Greece, combine together to create a ”must-visit” destination which one truly must experience for themselves.

Florina has always been one of Greece’s coldest inhabited places, and it is definitely its coldest major city.

Temperatures often drop below -10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit) and snow is more often seen here than anywhere else in the country.

Florina also holds Greece’s all-time record-low temperature of -29°C (-20 F), which was recorded just a few years ago.

Pisoderi is a village 17 km west of Florina, Greece. Nearby, 5 km away, is the ski resort Vigla which is located on Mount Verno, and currently has five lifts and ten trails.

The summit of the resort is 1939m above sea level, with a total vertical drop of about 420m. The resort has a view of Lake Prespa, on the border between Greece, Albania, and North Macedonia.
