A presentation by Lamda Development on Tuesday revealed the planned entertainment facilities at Hellinikon, the multi-million dollar new development project on the Athens Riviera.
Lamda Development, which has decided to pursue a high level of transparency when planning the Hellinikon project, has made presentations available to the public online.
Hellinikon project to reshape Athens Riviera
New information released by the development company largely concerns the “Marina Galleria,” a building central to the Hellinikon project. The Galleria, which will be located facing the renovated Agios Kosmas Marina, will provide entertainment options for everyone at Hellinikon.
During the presentation, the CEO of Lamda Development, Odysseas Athanasiou, spoke of the company’s goals for the project and the Marina Galleria. Athanasiou highlighted that the building housing the Marina Galleria will have cutting-edge technology incorporated into its design, which is consistent with the ethos of the Hellinikon project as a whole.
“This is yet another building that is a model of high aesthetics and ‘green’ design, that along with the residential tower and the other landmark Hellinikon buildings, will help Greece find its spot on the global architectural map,” Athanasiou said.
According to the presentation, the building will have digital features as well. The Marina Galleria is expected to offer a variety of options to visitors, such as a wealth of shopping opportunities and entertainment — while always keeping digital development in mind. In the final project, this may manifest in features such as digital shop windows.
Melina Paizi, the Chief Development Officer of Lamda Development, presented the future building to the public in more detail.
“Marina Galleria is an iconic project that will offer an integrated shopping, gastronomy, and entertainment experience, becoming a next-generation destination unique by Greek standards. Our goal is for Marina Galleria to attract Greeks as well as visitors from all over the world, offering unique experiences and high-quality services, thus making the Athens Riviera a top global destination,” she said.
Upgraded waterfront, added amenities
The presentation also detailed Lamda Development’s plans for areas surrounding the Marina Galleria. The new building has been designed with special consideration given to its relationship with the surrounding environment — particularly the sea.
The Marina Galleria will be right on the waterfront, along the coastal area that the company is planning on renewing as part of the Hellinikon project on the Athens Riviera.
“Another aspect which makes the Marina Galleria unique is its relationship to the element of water. (This relationship) is being developed on two levels. The first level is in direct contact with the sea, while on the terraces on the second level, visitors can enjoy a magnificent view,” continued Paizi during the presentation on Tuesday.
In addition, the coastal road will be paved so that pedestrians and cyclists can move safely along it. Plants and trees will line the road, and existing public transport services (such as the tram) will be harmoniously incorporated into the redeveloped coastal walkways. Lamda Development is also planning to establish a series of new landmarks in the upgraded coastal area, which will be presented to the public on Wednesday.
