Three of Greece’s Antetokounmpo brothers, Giannis, Thanasis, and Kostas, are starring in a new advertisement for the latest Fast and Furious movie, titled “Fast and Furious 9.”
The promotional video which features the brothers is presumably being used to drum up excitement for the new movie amongst basketball fans. Fast and Furious 9 is expected to premiere in United States theaters on June 25.
Antetokounmpo brothers in promo for Fast and Furious
The film sees the main character of the series of movies, Dominic Toretto, facing his own brother in high-speed car chases. This theme of familial ties in high-energy activities clearly influenced the decision to promote the movie using the Antetokounmpo brothers.
“In this family, you play fast. You play furious. And when the stakes are this high… bad blood is going to run in the family,” a booming voice announces in the new promotional material for Fast and Furious 9.
The Antetokounmpo brothers are shown playing basketball against each other on a darkened, misty court.
Each brother wears the uniform of the team they play for, with Thanasis and Giannis featured in their Milwaukee Bucks uniforms and Kostas wearing the Los Angeles Lakers’ distinctive yellow uniform.
During the promotional video which features the Antetokounmpo brothers the narration continues over scenes of cars racing each other on dangerous terrain, consistent with the overall branding of the Fast and Furious movies.
The new trailer featuring the three basketball legends is shown below.

Giannis Antetokounmpo: no stranger to the silver screen
A film about Giannis’ life so far and how he became known across the world as one the best National Basketball Association (NBA) players of recent memory is currently being produced by Disney+.
Titled “Greek Freak,” Giannis’ friendly nickname given to him by the media, the movie has already begun filming in Athens.
Giannis Antetokounmpo gave a series of interviews to Jim Paschke recently, in which he spoke about the upcoming film that is being produced about him and his life journey.
The Greek Freak said that the movie will not be just about his life, but also his family’s lives as well. ”(A)bout what they went through in order to raise us to become who we are. What they had to do in order for us to put us in a position to have the opportunity to be successful,” Giannis explained to interviewers.
In the interview with Paschke, Antetokounmpo said a great deal about his family, his brothers — and particularly his fellow teammate, Thanasis.
”He changes the game with his energy. He will give it his all and do it with a smile,” Antetokounmpo said proudly about his younger brother.
Regarding the upcoming film, the NBA MVP noted that he does not want the film to be about him, scoring points, and getting awards. ”I want them to see our lives,” Giannis said.
”Obviously, I had a great childhood, but it was tough,” the Milwaukee player stated. ”I had to do what I had to do, I had to help my family because we didn’t have money,” he added.
”But, the real heroes are my parents, because they had to do all that — a thousand times more,” the Greek player noted emphatically in an emotional moment during this interview.
