Low Covid-19 Figures Continue in Greece: 588 New Cases, 70 Dead

The drop in the numbers of Covid-19 infections and deaths continues in Greece. On Sunday the National Public Health Organisation (EODY) announced 588 news cases and 70 deaths, while 515 patients are in intubation.
According to EODY, 11 of the new cases were detected following checks at the country’s gateways.
The total number of cases is 131,072, of which 52.5 percent are men. A total of 5,211 (4.0 percent) infections so far are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 38,349 (29.3 percent) are related to an already known case.
The number of patients in intubation dropped to 515, with their median age being 67 years. Of them, 165 (32.0 percent) are women and the rest are men. Also, 77.1 percent of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years of age or older. So far, 800 patients have been discharged from ICU.
Finally, the total number of deaths has reached 4,172, with 1,682 (40.3%) of them being women and the rest men. The median age of the deceased was 79 years and 95.7 percent of them had an underlying disease and/or were 70 years old and over.
