Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with advisors and government ministers virtually on Saturday in order to discuss the country’s Covid-19 vaccination plan.

Reportedly, vaccinations will begin in January, with healthcare workers having priority.

Greeks will be able to make appointments to receive the free shot at one of the country’s 1,018 vaccination centers that are currently being created in order to best distribute the vaccine to as many people as possible.

Although the vaccine’s arrival is imminent in the county, Mitsotakis stressed that Greeks should remain vigilant in following the state’s anti-virus measures to avoid further spread of the virus and reduce stress on the Greek national health system.

It was also stressed that a public information campaign is needed to boost confidence in science and convince those who are skeptical about the safety of the vaccine.

It was noted that the contribution of the medical community will be crucial in this area.

Preparation meetings will take place on a regular basis in order for everything to be ready and for the vaccination to start immediately after the receipt of the vaccines expected in January.
