According to an announcement from the Greek health authorities on Friday, the new cases of Covid-19 in Greece number 391, along with one death occurring in the last 24 hours.
Of Friday’s cases, 56 are connected to known outbreaks, and 36 were identified during routine testing at Greece’s points of entry.
In Attica, where Greece’s capital city of Athens is located, there were 161 new coronavirus cases detected in the last day. The region has been heavily impacted by the virus, consistently recording a large number of the daily cases.
In total, there have been 21,772 recorded cases of Covid-19 in Greece, of which 3,213 are thought to stem from foreign travel, and 8,892 with contact with an already confirmed case.

Since the start of the pandemic in Greece, 237 patients have been released from intensive care.
On Friday, one death with the virus was recorded. In total, 431 people have lost their lives with the virus in Greece; the median age of those who passed away with the virus is 78, and 96.5% of them were over the age of 70 or had underlying health issues.
