UK Says Travelers Returning from Zakynthos, Lesvos and Santorini Need Not Isolate

In a surprise move, the government of the United Kingdom on Thursday removed the stipulation that UK travelers must self-isolate after returning from the Greek islands of Zakynthos, Serifos, Lesvos, Tinos and Santorini as of 4 AM on Saturday, October 10.
The full listing of rules regarding all coronavirus-related travel restrictions for UK tourists can be found here.
The restrictions had been put in place September 9th in response to increased numbers of Covid-19 positive people on the islands.
The lifting of the special restrictions was seen as somewhat surprising since the number of coronavirus infections in the country as a whole remains high by Greek standards, although relatively low compared to many other European countries.
The Greek island of Crete, however, still remains on the list of places where UK travelers must self-isolate after returning.
