Three Greek government ministers were forced into quarantine on Thursday after they were told that a person they had all met the previous day had been diagnosed with Covid-19.
Health authorities also ordered the shutting down of the Ministry of Development and Investments, where the meetings took place.
The three ministers, Adonis Georgiadis, Nikos Papathanasis and Giannis Plakiotakis, cancelled all their official engagements and will remain isolated at their homes.
Georgiadis and his Deputy at the Ministry of Development and Investment, Papathanasis, were to accompany Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in a visit to Thessaloniki.
Shortly after they arrived at Athens International airport, they were informed that a foreign investor with whom they had had meetings on Wednesday had been diagnosed with the virus.
Later, Greece’s Minister of Shipping, Giannis Plakiotakis, announced through Twitter, that he himself is entering quarantine as he also met with the same individual.
Για τις επόμενες μέρες, θα εργάζομαι από το σπίτι, αφού πριν από λίγο ενημερώθηκα ότι επενδυτής που συνάντησα χθες, βρέθηκε θετικός στον κορονοϊό. Ακολουθώ πιστά τα πρωτόκολλα του ΕΟΔΥ pic.twitter.com/eaQyTlsF36
