New Coronavirus Cases Jump to a Record High 203 in Greece

The number of new coronavirus cases in Greece gradually increased with 203 recorded in the last 24 hours, the highest figure since the beginning of the pandemic.
The National Health Organization (EODY) on Sunday announced 203 new people infected by Covid-19 in Greece, a record number generating great concern to authorities.
At the same time, the number of patients in ICU went up to 22 on Sunday, five more than on Saturday.
According to EODY, 29 of the new cases were detected in the country’s gateways. The total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic rose to 5,623, of which 54.8 percent are men.
Also, 1.438 (25.6 percent) cases are considered related to travel from abroad and 2,705 (48.1 percent) are related to an already known case.
The median age of the 22 patients in ICU is 63 years. Five of them (22.7 percent) are women and the rest are men. Also, 59.1 percent of them have an underlying disease or are 70 years old and over.
Finally, there is one more recorded death raising the total to 212. Of them, 69 (32.5 percent) were women and the rest were men. The median age of the casualties was 76 years and 95.8 percent had an underlying disease and/or were 70 years old and over.
