Fifty-Eight New Coronavirus Cases Detected; More Than Half Imported

A total of 58 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported by Greece’s National Public Health Organization within the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s total to 3,883, including all those who have recovered.
Out of the 58 total cases which were discovered by health authorities, 34 were non-domestic, with 28 of them being detected at the entrance gates of the country, while diagnoses in six of the imported cases came as a result of voluntary Covid-19 testing.
With a daily change of 1.5 percent, Greece’s number of Covid-19 cases remains on the whole fairly unchanged, despite the influx of travelers entering the country for the tourist season.
No new deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours as well, keeping the country’s total number of fatalities down to 193 since the outbreak began in the Spring. According to researchers and officials, the average age of all those who have died from Covid-19 in Greece is 76 years.

The daily distribution of confirmed deaths has slowly been decreasing since the initial outbreak, and has thankfully been kept relatively low in the midst of ramping up for the 2020 tourist season.
Of Greece’s total of 3,883 cases, 26.8 percent are considered to be related from traveling abroad, with 52 percent being cases related to already-known individuals, not related to travel.
