43 New Coronavirus Cases in Greece; One Confirmed Dead

Greek authorities recently announced on Monday, July 6, that there have been new spikes in cases of Covid-19 coronavirus while the country begins to open up for tourists this summer.
According to officials, a total of 43 cases have been diagnosed within the past 24 hours, and one person succumbed to the virus while in the hospital.
As Greece just opened its borders on Wednesday, July 1, the country has had to deal with implementing a range of health and safety protocols in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, including testing, quarantine hotels, and requiring tourists to self-isolate.
Out of the total of all the new cases, it is reported that 36 of them involve tourists who had been tested upon arrival into the country, while the other seven were associated with native citizens of Greece.
An eighty-three-year-old woman is also reported to have unfortunately passed from Covid-19 at the Sotiria Hospital in Athens.
Currently, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Greece has now reached 3,562, including all those who have recovered, with 193 deaths of individuals who died with the virus.
