Tom Hanks has a message for those who are refusing to wear a mask amidst the current pandemic: “shame on you”.
Hanks, who tested positive for COVID-19 along with his wife Rita Wilson back in March, has been asked about his thoughts on the virus sweeping the world by many reporters.
The “Greyhound” actor put it as simply as possible, stating that “we’re all in this together”, and that wearing a mask “is literally the least you can do”.
Mandatory mask rules have become a point of contention in the US, though public health experts and doctors warn that with surging cases in the US and most of the country opening back up, wearing masks, social distancing, and frequently washing hands may be the only way to keep the virus somewhat under control.
Hanks told reporters, “If you can’t wear a mask and wash your hands and social distance, I’ve got no respect for you, man. I don’t buy your argument.”
Both Hanks and Wilson seem fully recovered from COVID-19, and have in fact been donating their blood plasma to help those currently suffering from the disease.
