Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson Donate Blood Plasma to Help Fight COVID-19

After recovering from coronavirus in Australia in March, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have been donating blood plasma to help fight COVID-19.

Hanks is apparently back for another round of donation. Doctors and epidemiologists think that plasma and blood from those who have already fought off COVID-19 and developed antibodies may be crucial in helping current coronavirus sufferers in critical situations.

The plasma will also be used for treatment research against COVID-19.

Hanks posted about donating on Instagram, with the caption “Plasmatic on 3! 1,2,3 PLASMATIC! Hanx”. You can view his IG post above.

The actor has shared in past interviews that his wife Rita had a much harder time with coronavirus and more severe symptoms. However, they have both recuperated fully now and have been quarantined in their home in LA. In fact, they have been entertaining plenty of people during quarantine, with Hanks hosting the first virtual episode of “SNL”, and Wilson performing for an online NASCAR event.
