One hundred and twenty Greek-South African children along with a number of youths from Greece, sang “Solo Eudokia” online together recently, touching the hearts of thousands of Hellenes worldwide.

Under the banner “Greeks and South African Hellenes Unite During Covid-19” the children got together online and performed the famous “Solo Eudokia” (To Zeibekiko tis Eudokias) song, as a gesture that together we can fight the deadly virus.

The initiative behind this ambitious project belongs to the Federation of Hellenic Communities and Societies of South Africa. Children from the SAHETI School in South Africa, who are taught bouzouki by Babis Pappas, together with children from the Enxordo School in Patras, Greece joined their talents for the song.

The maestro was Theodoros Georgopoulos, artistic director of the SAHETI school while the children’s choir was trained by Amalia Antonopoulou.
