Four Men Found Dead Inside Cave in Greece

EMAK Unit: File photo

Four men were found dead by men of the Special Disaster Management Unit (EMAK) inside a cave in the Loutraki area in Peloponnese on Saturday morning.
Authorities were notified when the wife of one of the men reported her husband missing after going to the cave in the Karbounari area, near Loutraki.
The rescue unit found a power generator and an explosive mechanism inside the cave, speculating the four victims died from asphyxiation from the fumes of the machine. The bodies were carried to the Corinth Hospital for the cause of death to be identified.
Loutraki Mayor Giorgos Gionis spoke to SKAI television saying that the explosive mechanism and the power generator indicate that the men were probably hunting for a treasure hidden in the cave.
A local man who spoke to SKAI said that there is an ongoing rumor that there is a treasure hidden in the Karbounari cave.
