Greek Man Adds Zipper to Face Mask to Make Eating, Drinking Easier

A Greek restaurant owner in Germany has created what he says is a new type of face mask which includes a zipper in order to make dining more convenient during these coronavirus times.
Alexis Vaiou, originally from Neochori, near Trikala in central Greece, says that his mask has caused a stir in Germany, with a large company expressing interest in producing and marketing it.
Speaking to the Greek daily To Ethnos, he says that if his patent proves to be successful in Germany he will send all the profits back to his homeland of Greece.
“If there is a profit from the sales, I will send it home. Whether is one euro or millions I will donate them to the homeless in the municipality of Athens and to anyone else who is in need,” he vowed.
Vaiou has been known to help Greek causes in the past. In 2017, he donated an ambulance to the municipality of Athens.
The jury is still out on Vaiou’s innovation as many point out that it is inconvenient to zip and unzip your mask every time you want to take a bite of your food or a sip of your drink. But these are not normal times — so who knows?
